Powertex is a non-toxic, water-based, environmentally friendly textile hardener which can harden absorbent materials such as textiles, fabric, leather, paper and fibreglass. It can also be used with self-hardening clays, stone, ceramic, wood and sand. Powertex is also used for making sculptures, jewellery, paintings and home decor items.

It has a double cream consistency that can easily be worked into fabrics or painted onto clean, dry surfaces.  After 3 weeks drying time, it’s also weather resistant so ideal for making garden ornaments too!

There isn’t much that Powertex can’t be used for!

Once the dreaded Covid19 has settled, I will be running workshops again.  All materials are provided and you will get to take home a unique, handmade, finished piece. You don’t need to be creative, just have a bit of imagination and a want to get stuck in!  You’ll have a pick’n’mix selection of clay and wooden embellishments to choose from and you are also welcome to bring along your own pieces too.

I can also provide Private Group Creative Workshops, for birthdays, corporate groups, hen parties, just for fun, craft clubs, friendship groups and also as part of bereavement therapy. I’m more than happy to discuss your ideas and themes so that every workshop can be tailored to your group.

My workshops can be very therapeutic and relaxing, as well as great fun. I can come to your home, office, maybe your local pub or village hall and set up for your group to enjoy some creative fun!

I’m based in Chelmsford, Essex and currently the only certified Powertex Tutor in the area. I’m more than happy to travel however, any travel costs will be added to the workshop charges.
