About us, well, me, Sarah

I have always been crafty! Whether I'm sewing, paper crafting, making dolls house furniture, planning window displays, wedding flowers and decorations, I just can't sit still!

My main dolls house build was The Castle.  In April 2011, I won a Special Commendation Award for the best fantasy home.  Then in 2013, I was asked to take The Castle to the Kensington show, for all the dolls house enthusiasts to see!  It was then featured in a few Dolls House Magazines, in the UK and America and even in The Guardian newspaper!

I first saw Powertex about 20 years ago at a craft exhibition and just walked past the stall and then in November 2017, I went to a Powertex workshop in Billericay and immediately became hooked! By May 2018, I’d become a certified Powertex Tutor, after completing my level one training in Studley, Warwickshire. The knowledge and warmth and encouragement passed on from Tracey and her team was and still is, incredible.

Upholstery is now a very big part of my craft obsession.  Re-upholstering old chairs and footstools,  making custom cushion covers for camper vans, garden seating areas.  Even curtains for caravans, campers or taking them up, re-lining.  If you've got a project in mind, give me a try!

After making made to measure cushions, officially from 2021, in January 2023, I was accepted as a member of The Guild of Master Craftsmen.  To say I was excited is an understatement!!!

So, please have a look through The Skull Shed website for more information, ideas and events details.  If you’ve got any queries, please do drop me an email.
